Among others, the particular challenge with this set was how to integrate the various lighting needs with the scenery in order to produce the desired effects. All along the back walls, called "
pixel wall", we used standard flourecent fixtures. These were mounted in boxes and "skinned" with lexan, which was mounted with vinyl graphics. This was relatively standard proceedure. However, the fun started with the L.E.D.s. Everywhere else, except the pixel walls, we used foot-long strips of L.E.D.S behind similarly outfitted plastic/graphic surfaces. As is probably obvious, this was a lot of time-consuming work. All in all, this was a wonderful project to work on. With
metal,
wood,
electronics,
lighting,
graphics and more, there was plenty for everyone.
